IF we were to rent a ranked dedi server with the intention of running a couple of Battlefield Bad Company 2 servers on it are we allowed to install other non-Dice games alongside them or does that break any "ranked" related restrictions?

For example we'd want a couple of BC2 servers, 1 * COD4 match server and probably 1 * server for the new COD:Black Ops game when it arrives.

Am I also correct in thinking we'd only have access via your control panel and VNC/RDP/SSH is restricted due to us having ranked servers on the box?

Hi Griff,

That's right. You can run other non-DICE games on the dedi it's just that remote desktop and FTP are prohibited (all done via the Game Panel.)

If we owned our own box and co-located it with yourselves can that become "ranked" ?

Unfortunately no on that one; Ranked Servers can only be run from Company owned hardware.

I was just going to post about the same thing when reading this. I too have a few questions related to the original thread. How many BBC2 servers + a few COD4/5 servers could you put on the R300? Using your gamepanel, what games would be available to install and is BBC2 included or does this have to be done separately? Would the forthcoming Medal of Honor be available via gamepanel?

Hi,

BC2 is CPU heavy and CoD based games use little CPU but around 350-500MB ram (regardless of the slot size) - so they mix quite well together. An example config would be fine:

4 x 32 Slots BC2's
4 x any slot size CoD's

All popular games you can think of are available within the Game Panel along with MOH on Official release later this year.
