BF3: Server Update R11

Hi,

DICE are preparing to release Server Update R11 with the following changes:

- Memory leak fix

- Additional crash fixes

- Players required to start a round has been reduced to 1, both for ranked and unranked

- The “vars.allUnlocksUnlocked” setting has transformed into “vars.unlockMode”


R11 is scheduled for release today, Tuesday 6th at 08:00 GMT in coordination with the client side update.

Battlelog will be down for maintenance between 08:00 - 10:00 GMT (ish) during which will take this opportunity to update all BF3 game servers to the latest release.

Hers hoping they fixed stability for 64 slot servers.

These server patches seem to be minimal though, last few have had 4 changes only.

The memory leak fix should help. That's been a hanging over BF3 since R3.

As for actual crash fixes, I'm not sure how many bugs have actually been fixed. DICE gave the impression of just a few were found. Time will tell.

We'll give it a few days and then I'll open up another crash report thread for R11. This does help does a fair bit and benefits everyone if we can narrow down the bugs.

One of our servers just died. R11 may have fixed some crashes, but not all.

Approx 10:30pm

Server actually crashed this time round, automatically restarted.

Thanks for the info, explains why unlocks not working.


vars.UnlockMode options:-

all :All weapons which the player could possibly unlock by playing ranked games; this includes weapons in any DLCs which the player has purchased.

common :The set of weapons which is not part of any DLCs or special campaigns; this is a “safe” subset for matches.

stats :The same set of weapons which the player has available in a ranked match

none :Only the base set of weapons
