Hello many slots of bf3 could be run on the :

1) DELL POWEREDGE R210 ?

2) DELL POWEREDGE R200 PLUS ?

3) DELL POWEREDGE R210 PLUS ?

I think i will cancel my box with my usual provider at this end of month. So i need a fast answer. Thanks by advance!

Edit: I also don't understand this point:

"
Ranking Options
Standard: Regular dedicated server
Ranked: Includes Win 2008 Std, Game Panel and support for BF2, BF2142, BC2, MOH & BF3 Ranked Game Servers (+£15.00)
"

That mean if i set ranked i will just be able to install BF series and MOH on the dedi? Not other games?

And last questions : what is the VAT? (I don't have all these things on my actual dedi).
What OS is better to run with BF series, crysis 2, Cod series?

Hi,

The Dell R200 is not really recommended for running BF3 as it simply cannot handle the higher slot counts. BF3 server side is a single threaded and the more raw processing power, the better.

The Dell R210 and R210 Plus can handle around 192 slots of BF3 combined. However, if you're planning on running any 64 slot instances, then the Dell R210 II spec is recommended.

The Ranked Option within the ordering system must be selected if you plan to run BF3 game servers. BF3 only runs on Win 2008 which we include within that Ranked bundle. You can also run non-ranked game servers.

If you're within the EU, then VAT is applied to every service or goods item you purchase. Depending on the provider, if they are VAT registered, then typically a price is listed with and without VAT so that it's clear to the consumer. If a company is under the VAT threshold (small company), all their goods and services which they offer automatically include VAT and they do not have to separate that out; neither can they exclude VAT should the consumer be outside the EU.

Ok so could i rent a R 210 for

2 X 64 slots of BF3
1 X 32 of BF3
1 X 24 of BFBC2
1 X 32 of BFBC2
1 X 16 of Crysis 2
1 X 20 of COD 4

?

That is what i run today with my provider (i7 w3520 , 12 gb of RAM). No lags on all games, except for bf3 at 64 slots... My provider always answer me that the problem comes from EA.

About VAT: Iive in Reunion island, and my island is not considered as a territory of UE VAT, i think i can't pay VAT.

As above, I'd not really recommend the R210 or R210 Plus for 64 slot BF3 instances as most likely you will run into the same problem as your current dedi. The R210 II spec is recommended for 64 slot servers.

As far as I can tell, Reunion Island is counted as a region of mainland France and is subject to EU VAT.
