Hi Spolier,

You'd need to be looking at either of our Dell R210 dedis listed here: http://www.killercre...dicated-servers

What about the R300 how many servers can it host BFBC2 32 slot and what happens if I install multiple servers (8-9 32 slot) major lag or will you not allow it?

Hi,

The Dell R300 is capable of handling 7/8 x full 32 slot servers.

With Ranked dedis, we provide a game panel for you to manage services on the machine. We also install all Ranked Games on request and review the resources of the box when doing so; this avoids any potential lag issues that might arise. So to answer your question, if the CPU was hitting 60% or above at peak, we'd not allow any further servers.

Apologies, but I cannot answer questions like that. I'm sure VK is happy to let you know should you ask.

PM'd. :)

We host 8 servers on our box, not 9, the 9th was donated by somebody who had paid for a years sub on one.

We're very happy with the performance of the box and the support. The game installs are actioned quickly.

For that requirement, the min spec I would suggest is the Dell R300.

How suggested max is 160 slots on the R300 if used solely for BF3 game servers.

The R300 or R210 would be fine if you reduced that 64 slot BF3 down slightly. The problem with BF3 is that it's predominately single threaded and in order to support 64 slot servers in single mode, Sandy Bridge CPU's are required (Dell R210 II spec).

The R210 is significantly more powerful than the R300 and could host something like this:

2 x 54
2 x 32
2 x 24
1 x 16

The R300 on the hand would be able to host something like this:

2 x 48
2 x 32
1 x 24
1 x 16

There is also another option for the R300/R210 spec to host 64 slot instances and that is using BF3 with multi threading. DICE's implementation of multi threading does not really work well with hyper threading that the R210 spec has, so the R300 does a better job there as it does not support HT.

The R300 spec fits what you noted above but be aware that multi threading would have to be enabled if you insisted on that 64 slot instance.

Additionally, yes you can host TS3 on the box and with a non-commercial license from TS, you can host up to 512 slots.

Set up time is within a few hours if ordered before 18:00.

Yes you can test it by all means. There are quite a few customers already running multi threading on the R300 with 64 slot instances.
