Hi KC,

Right i'm thinking about maybe going for Co-Lo with you guys but was wondering if you could give me a rough idea of how many cs 1.6 servers/slots my server would be capable of and possibly the price it would be for Co-Lo.

My server is a HP ProLiant DL360 server.
I believe it has an Intel XEON 2.4GHz processor. It has 1.5GB ram and two 36.4 10,000rpm HDD's.

The idea at the moment is to get Co-Lo and run some cs 1.6 servers off it, although I may try and run a couple of other different game servers from it if that is possible.

Cheers

Rich

Hi Rich

I'm afraid at this time we have completely run out of space in both Telehouse and Bluesquare. We're adding additional capacity but this is unlikely to happen before september.

As for what the dedi could hold, I assume that is the older P4 Netburst Xeon architecture and not Core2? If its the former, you'd struggle tp hold above 50/60 slots, if it's Core2 you'd be looking at around 100+.

The price would vary depending on power usage and bandwidth requirements. A rough quote based on 0.5amps would be £35+VAT for the power and space and £12+VAT per Mbit 95th Percentile. If it is the older P4 Xeon architecture, you'd most likely be looking at around 0.75 - 1 amp of power with those SCSI drives effectively doubling the colo cost.

Hi Justin

Hmm.....well that defiantly answers my question.

I would presume that its the older P4 Netburst Xeon architecture as well then. Its an old servers they used to use at work before they upgraded all of their servers and I havnt had a chance to properly look at it. I started there recently and it was laying around so I decided that I would take it and see if I could get some use out of it. From the sounds of it though its not really worth trying to get up and running.

Maybe when work upgrade their servers again or when I decide to buy one you will here from me again. :)

Thanks anyway,

Rich
