Hi just wanting some info . I rent a dedi box off you already just wondering about co location .

Does it work out any cheaper?
Is it worth doing?
Best place to buy your own equipment?

Is it mainly for peeps what know alot about servers . Or do you look after it like you do one you rent out.
Reason i ask i would like a more beefy server that could run alot more , But the cost would be alot more a month
So buying one and co location would be a cheaper option monthly after buying a server ?

Soz for the dumb nooby questions .

Hi,

Our standard quote is as follows:

1U with 0.5amps of power
Unlimited gaming bandwidth. For non-gaming co-lo, we include 10Mbit 95th percentile.
100Mbit full duplex network port (1000Mbit available at £30+VAT extra p/m)
APC remote reboot port
KVMoIP (shared)

£49.99+VAT

So yes, it can work out cheaper if you co-lo a modern box within the 0.5amps limit.

As for hardware, we always recommend Dell. We've been using them exclusively for the last 3.years now and their boxes are very reliable. Something like the Dell R210, R210 V2 or the R310 would fit with that 0.5amps limit.

With regards to the support, co-lo is an unmanaged solution. We provide you with the rack space, power and bandwidth and all the rest is up to you. If you were to suffer a hardware failure, we can troubleshoot the box on your behalf, but it's charged at £15+VAT per 15 min blocks.

So the savings are there and it's up to you to work out if the reduced monthly cost is worth the hardware outlay over x period of time.

Thanks for the reply .
It would work out cheaper over the long run as you supply a great job with the dedi I rent off yourselfs so I will be with you for many years to come .
As I don't know that much about it all would be worrying for me as I'm used to your cp panel for installing the servers & vcn for everything else .
I've been looking at a dell R210 I think it was .
I would like to but may be worth me learning some how a little more about how to run it & install the games with out that help .
Do you sell any of your servers you have ?
I've looked at Dell site but knowing my luck I would buy the wrong set up of spec
Thanks
Gaz

We don't sell servers, I'm afraid.

if you contact us via support, we might be able to recommend a Dell spec for you and purchase that on your behalf.

Here is the server I'd suggest you look at: http://configure.eur...oweredge-r210-2

Upgrade the CPU to the E3-1230 and add in 4GB of ram (2 x 2GB), and you're pretty much good to go.
