Hi
I was looking at your dedicated servers and noticed that it states unlimited GAMING bandwidth, while I know you are focussed on the gaming community if someone wanted to use a dedciated server for web hosting would they be charged for the bandwidth or does the same flat fee apply?
If not how much do you charge for bandwidth?

Hi there,
Under each dedicated server is a description of the bandwidth usage policies. If you wanted to host web services that is fine but you would need to select either the 'Any Use Server bandwidth package' or one of the unmetered 10 / 100Mbit packages. I've included descriptions of each below:
Any Use Server bandwidth package - 15Mbit 95th Percentile included (approximately equivalent to 5,000GB of data transfer)
Port presentation: 100Mbit full duplex.
Bandwidth usage: 15Mbit 95th percentile (overages charged £10+VAT per mbit)
Permitted applications: Any (except file sharing and ircd’s)
Selecting this option allows you to install pretty much anything you want within reason. To state the obvious, we do not permit the installation and usage of file sharing applications even if the content being shared is legal. Ircd's are also strictly prohibited. This package allows bandwidth usage up to 15Mbit 95th Percentile through the month. Please note, we in no way cap or restrict any ports. Exceeding the bandwidth limits by a vast amount will result in additional charging of £10+VAT per Mbit based on 95th Percentile billing.
Unmetered 10mbit and 100mbit bandwidth packages
Port presentation: 10Mbit or 100Mbit full duplex depending on selected package.
Bandwidth Usage limits: unmetered
Permitted applications: Any (except file sharing and ircd’s)
Selecting either of these two options provides a flat rate, unmetered connection per month. Like the any use bandwidth package, you can install pretty anything within reason. We do not permit the installation and usage of file sharing applications even if the content being shared is legal. Ircd's are also strictly prohibited. There are no bandwidth restrictions other than the purchased capacity of the line (10Mbit or 100Mbit).

Sorry just another couple of questions if I may:
Can I order the server with a 10Mbit connection and then have this upgraded at a later date? If so what is the procedure for doing this (placed as an order via a control panel or raised as a ticket)
What is the minimum contract term (I ask as I'm trying to develop a small hosting business as a sideline to see how it goes)

Hi,
Hope you had a great Xmas.
I would suggest going with the any use package on the 100Mbit connection which has a generous bandwidth allowance. If you would still like to go with the unmetered 10Mbit, this can be changed anytime by submitting a ticket.
Our min term is a month with discounts available on longer upfront purchases.

Yeah I did thanks and hope you did too.
My intent was to go with an unmetered 10 Mbps while getting the server up and running and then switch to unmetered 100 Mbps when all was set up and I had some customers so that its a fixed cost.
Anyway thanks again and will be back to order soon.
