Hi there,

We've put together a peering page that hopefully some of you might find interesting. Peers are monitored every 5 mins and the status updated accordingly.

KillerCreation Peering Page

At the time of writing, we have around 60 networks peered with our own BGP network (AS 25369). New peers are being added daily (7 added today) and time permitting, we should be up around 100 by the end of the month.

So what are the benefits of peering?

Peering is a means of directly exchanging traffic between two respective networks. This allows us to swiftly and at reduced latency, exchange traffic with many large networks within UK, Europe, and the rest of the world.

Question... I am with Virgin, and you show them as 'private peering'. What does this mean?

Private peering is a direct connection between two respective networks. To give you an example, imagine it like running a cable over to your neighbour's house instead of having to route from your home > through ISP > through your neighbours ISP > your neighbour.

What it means is, you have the best possible connection and latency to us from Virgin. There are no middle-man networks involved.

If we look at the trace route to you, you'll notice it goes from KillerCreation straight into Virgin in under 1ms:

1 rt-2-cent.killercreation.co.uk (81.19.219.1) 0.278 ms 0.335 ms 0.389 ms
2 rt-1-thn.killercreation.co.uk (217.146.94.1) 1.032 ms 1.091 ms 1.148 ms
3 tele-ic-2-ge-401-203.network.virginmedia.net (212.250.14.17) 0.982 ms 0.977 ms 1.021 ms
4 popl-bb-1b-as0-0.network.virginmedia.net (62.253.184.5) 1.047 ms 1.038 ms 0.981 ms
5 leed-bb-1a-as1-0.network.virginmedia.net (62.253.185.237) 6.160 ms 6.185 ms 6.175 ms
6 nott-core-1a-as0-0.network.virginmedia.net (213.105.174.170) 8.267 ms 8.304 ms 8.343 ms

Now if we take a random domain hosted over in the US (that we don't have private or public peering with), you'll notice its going KillerCreation > Telia > AboveNet > secureserver.net:

1 rt-2-cent.killercreation.co.uk (81.19.219.1) 0.331 ms 0.356 ms 0.419 ms
