Hi there,

I am interested in moving 2 of my servers currently hosted a multiplay.co.uk (currently BF2 and 2142) over to your hosting company, as I was quite impressed with your hosting capacity during the Bad Company 2 Beta.

What I am looking for is pretty much two "Bad Company 2", 24/7, 32 Player public servers instances.



Roughly when are your working hours? Are the servers automaticlly setup or have to be done manually during working hours?

EA recently posted that they have stopped all new servers, if I were to order, when would I expect my server to become live?

Where are the servers located, and would it be possible to give me an sample IP to ping, so I could test the connection for all my friends who will be playing on the server?

I have heard some server crash issues with BC2 recently, do you guys have an auto restart feature to minimize down time?

Our official hours are 10:00 - 22:00 Monday - Friday and 16:00 - 22:00 Sat/Sun. In reality, it's way more than that to cover sales, support and general upkeep before opening or closing on any given day.

Game servers are semi-automated but we still approve every order placed via our website before setup (fraud prevention: Paypal headaches).

I'm afraid it's unknown. Until EA/DICE fix the issues, the restriction is there on every Ranked Provider. We were hoping towards the end of this week but by the looks of things, it's going to run into next. EA UK forums are a good source of info.

Test BC2 server: Search for killercreation / KillerCreation in the BC2 browser. Although we don't have any public servers up (DICE restriction due to Master Server load), there are loads of customer servers up whom ordered before the restriction came into play.

Yes and no. The game panel monitors the process ID and will restart the service if it's dies. If the server hangs, then the PID is still live which creates a problem. We are working on a query to get the actual status of the game server in the event the server hangs. DICE are working on a new server build, so hopefully they beat us to it

Thanks for the prompt reply, I will assume the working hours you mentioned are in GMT. If everything goes as planned I will be ordering one 32 player instance first sometime next week when EA allows public server again.

Related point. EA has recently anounced that they are upgrading their Master server hardware today 8AM GMT, and tommorow. I was expecting the server hosts to get their information on server through a more direct route, but guess I was mistaken.

Unfortunately it does not mean providers are free to install new game servers. I imagine they will be look at it early next week and then go from there.

Just a quick check

What kind of backlog do you have for BC2 servers at the moment?

If the ban lifts next week, how long would it take for my server to come online if I were to order the day the ban gets lifted?

Hi,

We've actually setup 80% of the pending orders in preparation for when DICE give the go-head, and rest will be done tomorrow.

So effectively come tomorrow evening, there is no waiting list, as such.

The lack of news is very frustrating, any I would assume more so for someone who's company depends on hosting for revenue.

Sorry for being a pain in the ***, would it be possible give me a quick reply here when new servers are allowed? I spent a lot of time searching for news about it all day, without any luck. I expect as a trusted host, you should have access to EA internal mailing lists which should make you guys the first to be notified if anything changes.

Hi,

About 80 or so new game servers went online this evening and then the rest within 48hrs.

After we have completed the remaining customers, we will be doing a stock check to see if we have enough room to take additional orders before our new batch of Dell R210's arrive (within 10 days.)

I'll drop you a note in here once we can confirm.

If you've not yet received account details, then your server would have fallen into the second lot of servers allowed up within the next 36 hrs ish.
