In order to view PB commands, type "eventsEnabled true" at the command prompt.

Streaming to PPBans

At the remoteAdmin console prompt, type:

punkBuster.pb_sv_command "pb_sv_writecfg pbucon.use"
punkBuster.pb_sv_command pb_sv_restart

//Give PB approx 10 - 20 seconds to restart and continue with:

punkBuster.pb_sv_command "pb_sv_USessionLimit 8"
punkBuster.pb_sv_command "pb_sv_uconadd 1 208.122.49.138 pbbhub1 pbbanshub"
punkBuster.pb_sv_command "pb_sv_task 0 3600 pb_sv_ver"
punkBuster.pb_sv_command "pb_sv_task 0 86400 pb_sv_update"
punkBuster.pb_sv_command "pb_sv_AutoUpdBan 1"
punkBuster.pb_sv_command pb_sv_writecfg

To verify it's working:

punkBuster.pb_sv_command pb_sv_uconlist

Which should return:

punkBuster.onMessage PunkBuster Server: [Slot] [Type] [Mask] [Name]
punkBuster.onMessage PunkBuster Server: 1 1 208.122.49.138 pbbhub1
punkBuster.onMessage PunkBuster Server: End of PB UCON Profile List (1 Entry)


Once complete, log into your PBBans account and add the IP.


To disable live banning at anytime, type:

punkBuster.pb_sv_command "pb_sv_uconadd 0 208.122.49.138 pbbhub1 pbbanshub"

May be easier for some if they use the automated hub setup. I had issues with Gaurdian / PB giving errors on adding PB tasks ... might be a problem with BC2 Gaurdian but without direct console access I can't confirm.

you dont use the phrase "punkBuster.pb_sv_command" in any of the lines when you do you will get errors and may be what you did wrong (i did it to but relized that it wasnt a legit call). you just use the latter part of the instruction txt and it works a treat.

Hi there,

in order to stream my server 81.19.214.76:19567 to pbban I created an account there and ran the "Automated Hub Setup".
That Automated Hub Setup overwrites the pb_cfg and makes any further changes impossible.

Next step would be to create a team-account. Now I see that i will never get an Team-Account because I have no Clan, no Website etc. what is required to get one.

With other words: I am stuck in crap.

The to-do-list in this thread doesen´t work for my server now.

So is there any possibility to reset my punkbuster-config?

hi there,
i started streaming to pbbans since yesterday. Our server is usually running during the whole day except the morning hours with 32 players.
since yesterday we have some huge drop outs on the beginning of nearly every new round.

Would it be possible, that pbbans is doing anything to the server?
what are the recommended server flags for a killercreation BC2 server?

How big is your pbbans.dat file? If you're just streaming to pbbans, it's unlikely to be that big, but a large ban list could potentially cause lag on a round change.

What 'server flags' are you referring to? Only thing I can think of are Russian and US flags and you can't change those

Flags I'd recommend for BF:BC2 are:

PBBans Options

- Enforce Bans (does the same job as Accept MD5 and PB Bans) - usually applies to CVAR Bans too but there are none in BF:BC2;
- Allow Personal Greetings (if you use them);
- Announce Bans (if you want to shame the latest caught cheaters).

External Bans Options

Enforce EBL Level 1 and EBL Level 2 are also checked on my clan's servers (requires Enforce Bans).
