Hi folks

This is the big one. KC will officially becoming an ISP come 20th of Jan.

We purchased our new router back in early December but due to a few delays in processing our routing number (ASN) we decided to put this off until the 20th

New router is a Cisco Catalyst 6504-E Sup720 . This spec is industry leading and should see KC through for many years to come.

Along with the router we have a new line direct from Telehouse, this is a dark fiber 10Gbit link which will terminate into the new router. We will also be taking 2 x 1Gbits links from Lonap, peering with some of the major ISP's in the country such as Plusnet and Pipex.

If that was not enough we will be upgrading our inner core switching equipment from Cisco 3524's core switches to Cisco 3750G-TS24 core switches.
On top of that each outer Cisco 2950T will be dual Gbit uplinked to the core switches who in turn dual Fiber link to the new router.

All of this should result in the best gaming network in the UK, and we are very much looking forward to it.

As you can imagine there will be a bit of downtime on the 20/21st so please bare with us .

***Update***

Hi folks

We ran into a few Cisco related issues yesterday which is why nothing has happened yet. Besides that, one of our new Core switches has not arrived.

Apparently the courrier took the switch to Birmingham for no apparent reason, then somehow lost it doing the drive to London Docklands.

As it stands, tuesday looks to be the day when all goes live.
