Hi,

DICE are adding a new country filter to Battlelog and in order for game servers to be compliant with this filter, a minor update to every game server's command line is required.

The country filter is not yet live in Battlelog but will be shortly. In order to make your game server compliant with this new country filter, please follow the steps below:

- Log into the Game Panel (http://gp.killercreation.co.uk)

- Click the 'Game Servers' icon and select the relevant Battlefield 3 Game Server

- Select the 'Command Line Changer' icon and on the right hand side under the Action header, click the word 'Selected'

By clicking 'Selected', this will apply the new command line and restart the game server with the new switch '-Online.Country GB'.

That is all that is required and please carry out this update ASAP.

Er so doing this will restart the server.

I'm loathe to do this when my servers have somehow managed to fill themselves for the first time in a week.

You can do it whenever. EA typically conducts maintenance on Tuesday morning, so tomorrow might be a good time.

And doping this will stop non-EU parties seeing our server in the browsers? I'm confused.

No, it's simply an additional filter to narrow search parameters as the regions are far too broad with the number of game servers. The chances of finding a server when a user of Battlelog searches on just Europe are slim to none (party because BL only displays the first 30 results that match your filter (bug)).

There are two key settings in relation to this:

-Region EU

This command line switch makes your game server eligible for the European region filter under Battelog. This switch has been active since the initial launch.

-Online.Country GB

This is the new command line switch and makes your server eligible for searches on the UK country filter.

Guys.. I have yet to do this on our servers.

Has it been applied automatically or is it still a requirement?

All you were required to do is reboot your server to make this change and there have been multiple updates since this change was put in place, all of which required a server reboot to install so you have nothing to worry about.

A bloody working Ping kicker would be better. Silly Japanese and Aussi players joining UK servers is a pain.

Set max ping 275 would be nice. Being as you can now see pings in game barring your own! Does this mean Wolfy can fix it in Rweb now?

Even if the country filter was not set via the command line as per my instructions above, we patched that into all servers when R9/R10 was released. It can be specified either in the command line or a hidden file which is what we did in this case.

With regards to the ping kicking, I've not yet checked but even if the in-game score board is showing that stat, it still needs to be made available to the rcon protocol, otherwise there is no way to query.

Justin,

For some reason our server is stuck on 8 slots only. I've posted a ticket on this but I was also poking around the control panel and I noticed this in the command line:

\TC00752465845128272560460\conf" -GameIP 81.19.216.82 -GamePort 25200 -RemoteAdminPort 81.19.216.82:47200 -NumSlots 64 -Region EU -PingSite lhr -Country GB -Game.LogFileCollisionMode

Can you tell me what this refers to?
